Hanging out with Daddy

Feb 26, 2008

I have just put Hope down for a nap and I was overwhelmed with the love I have for her. God has blessed me so much by allowing me to be her mother and I am thankful to Him for that. People say she is a lucky girl, but I believe Scott and I are the ones who are getting the blessings. Hope has done so many new things in the past couple of weeks that I get amazed by her. We are teaching her to blow kisses and to say please in sign language. She readily will clap now especially when we say"YAH". She is smiling more and more and that is so sweet to this Mommy. The pictures I am adding are from our visit home last weekend and also Hope sitting in a rocking chair that was mine when I was a little girl. I really love this kid. She makes my day.

Happy Valentine's Day!

Our first Valentine's Day with Hope. She has our hearts and it was fun to celebrate our love as a family. Hope did her first fingerpainting picture for her Daddy's gift. She liked looking at her cards and dumped out her candy Scott gave her and played with the box.
Right now Hope is battling a virus and we are having to give her breathing treatments. Those are tough to go through, but it is helping her. I will be glad when she is better.
She pulled up last night for the first time by herself. Scott and I started clapping and she looked at us like we were crazy. I guess we are - about her! Enjoy more pictures!

In trying to get Hope to feed herself we are starting to give her a spoon or bowl or cup to practice with. I gave her a little yogurt in her bowl one morning and she discovered the art of fingerpainting! Needless to say, she loved it. We also had a fun week because our friend Christine came to visit. We love Teen and had a great time. I have attached some pictures from our week.

New things!

We are seeing Hope do new things each day. One day as we were riding in the car Scott coughed. We noticed that Hope was mocking Scott coughing. Yesterday she clapped for the first time and colored for the first time. Today during breakfast I gave her a spoon to hold while I fed her. I showed her how to put the spoon to her mouth and she did it a few times! This is a big deal because she doesn't feed herself yet. We are so proud of her. I have attached some pictures of her coloring and using the spoon. She is such a good girl. We are so blessed and love her so much.
